Letter From the

Foundation President

The PBGV Health and Rescue Foundation held its annual elections at the April

Board Meeting.  We are pleased to welcome Coady Egan to the Foundation

Board as a Director and we are pleased to welcome back the Officers and

Directors that were up for reelection.  Thank you all for continuing with your

commitment to the Foundation.

We were pleased to be able to support several of the activities that occurred

at the National Specialty in Charlotte  such as an Eye Clinic, DNA Blood Draw

and support of a health speaker.

For the past three years  PBGVCA and the Foundation have participated in

providing Animal Oxygen Mask Equipment to local Fire Departments in the

city where the Specialty is being held.  This year Charlotte, North Carolina

was the grateful beneficiary.  Three years ago, before the Tucson Specialty Jo

Quintenz proposed that the club and the Foundation might collaborate to

provide much needed Oxygen equipment to the Tucson Fire Department.

We thank Jo  for the suggestion.  Hopefully, we will be able to continue with

this tradition for years to come.

The  AKC/CHF Parent Club conference once again will be held  in St. Louis.

Laura Liscum will be our representative at the conference.  It is a fast paced

conference which provides a setting for the AKC/CHF researchers to report

their findings.  The Foundation is always searching for research that is rel-

evant to issues that occur in PBGVs.

I have often commented about how amazed and thankful we are for the gen-

erosity of our PBGV owners.  Here is a perfect example. There is a group of

quilters on Facebook that are known as the Greatful Threads for PBGVs. For

the past two years they have made the most incredible quilts and tote bags.

They have donated them to the Foundation to offer at auction. What a won-

derful donation to the Foundation! PBGV people are amazing!!! Thanks to you

for all you do for the breed.   PBGVs everywhere Thank You!

Linda Murray

President PBGV Health and Rescue Foundation

The mission of the PBGV Health

and Rescue Foundation is to pro-

mote the welfare of the breed by

providing funding for research,

education and rescue.
