for review.  However, ad designers appreciate prompt and thorough feedback to avoid multiple rounds of revisions.

• Payment for ads is due before Saber Tails is published.  Ads will be removed if payment is not received prior to the

magazine completion.

• Ads must feature PBGVs if the focus of the ad is about ‘dogs’ (i.e. no litter announcements for a litter of GBGVs or

other breed of dog, no announcements for other breeds’ national specialties, etc.).  An ad honoring an individual

may show that person with another breed. Other breeds may be seen in the ad, article, photos and illustrations.

Photos accompanying articles may feature other breeds to illustrate or as the subject of a particular topic of interest

to the Club.

• Ads may NOT be placed in Saber Tails or any other PBGV sponsored publication (such as National Specialty Catalog)

on behalf of a dog or product owned, in any part, by an individual who has been removed from the PBGVCA

• No ads by companies whose ownership structure includes an individual who has been removed from the PBGVCA

• The editorial committee has the right to reject ads in whole or in part that contain content deemed inappropriate

for club dissemination, deemed inflammatory by nature or deemed to represent poor sportsmanship or a spirit of

derision.  The editorial committee and editor will work with the author to remove any questionable content if the

ad has merit but needs revision to remove derisive content.  If the author objects to modification, the ad will be

rejected in whole.

General Publishing Guidelines

• All articles are subject to potential revisions for spelling, grammar and clarity.  A member of the Editorial Committee

will reach out to the author/advertiser in the case where ambiguity needs to be clarified.  No assumptions will be

made about the intent of the author.

• All articles will be fact-checked by the Editorial Committee for correctness.

• In the event there is a question regarding the correctness of an entire article, the Editorial Committee will convene

a meeting to discuss and clarify concerns.  A representative of the committee will reach out to the author to discuss

the concerns or potential inaccuracies. The committee Board liaison will hold the article from publication until the

next Board meeting and the article will be discussed by the Board and a vote will determine if the article is pub-

lished.

• Articles may represent views not shared by the editorial committee but must accept that these exceptions may be

noted in a preamble to the article.  Author understands the editorial committee may request a dissenting opinion

piece written by another member or authority on the subject and published in the same edition, if possible, or an

edition immediately following the publication featuring the disputed content.  The editorial committee reserves

the right to hold an article determined to be of such nature and that is submitted for publication to allow time to

procure an article representing the alternate opinions.

• The editorial committee has the right to reject articles in whole or in part that contain content deemed inappropri-

ate for club dissemination, deemed inflammatory by nature or deemed to represent poor sportsmanship or a spirit

of derision.  The editorial committee and editor will work with the author to remove any questionable content if the

article has merit but needs revision to remove derisive content.  If the author objects to modification, article will be

rejected in whole.
