Spring 2016  Saber Tails 47

Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Club of America

PBGVCA 2015 Mid-Year Meeting

 4th Session – Saturday, October 24 – 6:45 p.m. CDT

(Meeting was held by Conference Call. The BOD decided since we had already

used the Charlotte venue for a previous National Specialty, it was not necessary)

remaining Medical bill, paid directly to her Doctor in the

sum of $1578.54. Motion passed with Cohen and Bustin

abstaining.

National Specialties Shows – Information, from Board sug-

gestions, for our Consultant to check specific venues, has

resulted in still not having a location for the 2017 Specialty

in the West region.  Sandy will contact our Consultant to

check into Town and Country Resort in Mission Valley. We

still do not have a Show Chair, but location dictates whom

might be able to take the job.

Open Discussion

Questions were asked about the duties of the National

Show Chair and it was suggested we look in past Minutes

for the evolution of the National Show Chair.

Organization chart shows what is the reporting chain of

command regarding National Specialties.

Anne described how other breed clubs have gone to the

National location rotation of East, Central, West, Central,

East, Central instead of East, Central, West, East, Central,

West.

In Attendance: Sandy Bustin, Tiffany Cannon, Bob Cohen,

Susannah Cooper, Anne Gallant, Lindley Henson, Stepha-

nie Holoubek, Lora Megli, Gloria Swaine, Jo Quintenz,

Vickie Willmann.  Helen Ingher joined the call.

Absent: Mike Williquette

Topic for 4th Saturday Session - Bylaws/Constitution (Helen

Ingher joined the call)

Session was called to order at 6:35 p.m. CDT.

By-Laws – Jo emailed revised By-Laws along with side-

by-side comparison of current document and proposed

changes. She also stated this had been a 2-year project. Jo

discussed how by-law revisions, in the past, have been sent

out to the membership by mail with ballots for members

to vote.  Her concern is the cost of mailing.  Various dis-

cussions on wording and how issues evolved were held.

The idea of Associate Membership was discussed at great

length and was generally well received.

The Revised By-Laws could be included in the Spring Saber

Tails, along with Voting Ballots. The by-law comparisons

will be included in a Saber Tails article.

MOTION #10-15-09 (Quintenz second Swaine) Move to

accept the recommended revisions of the By-Laws, as

distributed to the Board and amended during the Mid

Year meeting, and refer it to the membership for ap-

proval.  Motion

Discussion was revisited about Lifetime memberships

being extended to past Presidents and Founding mem-

bers of the Club. The BOD agreed that there was a proce-

dural mistake made during the process. At the Indianap-

olis National Annual Meeting, this issue will be brought

to the General Membership for a Ballot vote.  Tiffany will

take care of the information that will be presented to the

Club.

The Mid Year Meeting was adjourned at 7:22 p.m. CDT.
