to supplement the reimbursement for our participants.
Discussion was held on the benefits versus the cost associ-
ated with MTB at Westminster.
MOTION: 11-15-06 (Williquette, seconded Cannon) Move
to not participate in Meet the Breeds at the 2016 West-
minster Dog Show. Motion passed.
Old Business:
Jo brought this discussion back to the BOD.
From the Mid Year Minutes, 2nd Saturday Session:
“The Board believes the Hip Dysplasia test has served
its’ purpose and should be taken off of the Club Health
recommendations and that the POAG test be added. This
should keep health testing costs lower and more breed-
ers and owners might do health testing. The Board sends
this back to the Health Committee for their input.”
The Health Committee suggests that the hip evaluation
be left in the CHIC designation.
In order to make the CHIC designation more relevant
and less expensive, the BOD of the PBGVCA recommend
removing the OFA Hip Evaluation. Studies have shown
that there is only a small incidence of Hip Dysplasia in the
PBGV and many Vets are expressing the opinion there is
no need to continue hip evaluations in PBGVs.
Concern was raised about what the perception of this
recommendation would be and that we need to do more
public education about this issue. Bob suggested we put
an article in Saber Tails to explain the reasoning behind
this discussion
MOTION: 11-15-06 (Quintenz, second Cooper) Move to
revise the CHIC Protocol to add POAG and delete the
OFA Hip evaluation for PBGVs. Motion failed. Voting for:
Cooper, Quintenz, and Swaine. Voting against:

Cannon, Cohen, Henson, Holoubek, Megli, Willmann, Wil-
liquette.
Bob asked Jo to write an article for Saber Tails and the
Board will revisit this discussion at a later date. Vickie will
ask Dr. Bell to possibly include Hip Dysplasia in his Semi-
nar at the 2016 National.
Motion: #11-15-07: (Holoubek second Willmann) Move to
adjourn. Motion passed.
Meeting was adjourned at 11:02 Central.
