Letter From the
Foundation President
At the 2019 National Specialty, I had the honor
of presenting an award to Linda Murray in rec-
ognition of her outstanding devotion to PBGVs
and their care. Linda served on the Foundation
Board of Directors since 2011 and was President
since 2013. An active Club member, she orga-
nized National Specialties and served as PBGV-
CA Vice President. After eight years of service
to the Foundation, Linda has stepped down.
We thank her for her exceptional leadership and
dedication.
At the May Foundation meeting, I was elected
President and Peggy Evanich was elected Vice President. Jo Anne Hacker
and Sue Smyth were re-elected Treasurer and Secretary, respectively. We also
welcomed Pam Helmer to the Board. Pam is Chair of the PBGVCA Rescue
Committee and a former member of the Foundation Board.
The Foundation has several goals for the coming year. One is to refresh our
website with updated content. The other is to evaluate our past activities at
the National Specialty and outline a path forward.
One of our goals has already been accomplished and that is the distribution
of a quarterly newsletter describing Foundation initiatives. We hope that
you read about the Eye Exam Reimbursement Program and have made an
appointment to have your PBGVs eyes checked by a veterinary ophthalmol-
ogist. More info on the eye program can be found in this issue of Saber Tails.
Finally, I want to thank the many individuals who made donations to the
Foundation in the memory of Donny Moore, a longtime PBGVCA mem-
ber, and John Marshall, father of Kathy Marshall. I know that their families
were very touched.
