  NTR

Treasurer’s Report:

Gloria reported that Club assets as of

March 31, 2019 total $80,315.03. There is a net income for

2018-19 of $10,806.76. This income consists of a net loss

of $4,134.04 in General activities, offset by a net gain of

$10,746.52 in Show events, and a net gain of $4,226.93 in

Hunt activities.

Gloria also reported that Robert Sweeney would fly to Phoenix

to work with Gloria on the Treasurer transition.

AKC Delegate:

Helen reported that PBGVs rank 157/193 of

low number breeds.

2019 National Specialty:

Lora reported that the 2019 Agil-

ity Fun Run had made money. She discussed the need for the

Permanent Show Chair person to be accessible and communi-

cative in all areas of Specialty show events.

Realizing that times are changing especially as it relates to how

we all communicate, the Board needs to look to the future and

consider what our show participants will expect and how we

will need to change to meet those needs.    The Board asked

that someone with a fresh set of eyes look at drafting a Show

Coordinator job description for the years covering 2021 and

forward.  The goal is to identify where we might need to change

and incorporate successful practices from the past, improving

on them for the future. Input from current Board members

and past show chairs is recommended. Jo Anne Hacker volun-

teered to start the process.

Lora will finish her reports after Megan Esherick gives the

Board an update on the 2020 Specialty.

2020 National Specialty:

Megan Esherick brought the Sched-

ule of Events for the 2020 Specialty. She reported that all of

her committees have been filled with the exception of a Hos-

pitality Chair. She will send monthly reports to the Board as

things progress and that the Roberts Centre is an easy place to

hold a dog show.

Participation with the GBGVCA was discussed with concerns

of communication issues between the Clubs. Susannah will be

the PBGV Point of Contact to talk with the GBGVCA. Vickie

will talk to the Roberts Centre about any issues there might be

with a second group.

Lora Megli cont’d:  Lora reported that her mother (Rosalie

Falcone) is sewing a grooming table skirt to dress up the ring

table for 2019 and another skirt is in the works that can be

used each year.

Motion #04-19-02 (Liscum, second Willmann)

 Move to

spend up to $200 on the grooming table skirt for Nationals.

Motion passed.

Lora reported on a number of questions and issues that need

to be addressed for future National Specialties.

• Thank you notices and memorials need to be in the Show

Catalog and need an assigned person to be in charge.

• There needs to be a size recommendation for Rosettes in

the Show Manual.

• Suggested to not put date for performance events- i.e.

qualifying ribbons don’t need date, could add stickers to

the ribbons instead.

• Need to use previous year’s budget and spending to gauge

costs of trophies each year.

• Website navigation for trophy sponsorship seems to be

difficult.

• If a schedule judge is suddenly not available, what is

the process to replace the judge? Consensus was that we

should go to the AKC first and then deal with it as best as

possible.

Saber Tails:

Motion #04-19-03 (Cooper, second Holoubek)

 Move to use

up to $1300 for Teresa Ralenkotter to create the layout for

Saber Tails.  Motion passed.

Motion #04-19-04 (Cooper, second Otto)

 Move to spend

$300 to purchase software to handle scent work. Motion

passed.

Old Business:

Jo Anne Hacker reported that the PBGV Wikipedia page

needed to be changed. Laura, Susannah and Jo Anne will work

to fix it.

Jo Anne reported that she is checking with other non-profit

groups to find someone that can do an outside audit of the

books since there will be a change in Treasurer.

By unanimous consensus the Board has agreed to use an out-

side voting firm to operate and manage future elections instead

of the voting procedure used for the 2019 BOD election.

Jo Anne Hacker reported that 16 oxygen masks, 8 from the

PBGVCA and 8 from the Health Foundation were donated

to the Kerrville Fire Department. She suggested that we look

at the each individual location to determine the best donation

to be made.
