ber.  This move would allow more time to receive articles. Tiffany will put a notice of this change in her letter in the next

issue of Saber Tails.

2018 National Specialty Report: Pam reported that Kristina is working on finding a photographer. Expenses for Agility

including Judges, grounds, and rental equipment would be around $1150. A Facebook page has been started on the

2018 National. A Scent Work “Sniff and Go” event and Seminar were discussed. Scent Work would be an additional activ-

2019 National Specialty Report: Pam reported that Lora and Bob are working on the contract with the Hotel.

2020 National Specialty Report:  Pam reported that she is looking for a Show Chair for the East Coast National. A notice

will be put in Saber Tails.

some wording on the Rescue Reimbursement Form to clarify the reimbursement process.

New Business:

Scent Work – Lora discussed the need to move forward with AKC paperwork related to Scent Work activities. This would

make Scent Work available as an approved AKC activity for the 2019 National in Texas.

Canine College – Anne reported that the Club developed written work is completed for PBGV Canine College with only

the photograph insertion left. The AKC has developed a Canine College (based on the same Claudia Orlandi program

that our Club uses).  The AKC has completed the Grand BGVs Canine College.  It would be to our advantage to share

our club material with the AKC so the AKC has the best information possible.  Tiffany/Susannah will be in contact with

Kitty Steidel to make sure she has reviewed and approved the materials. The Board will need to review and approve the

materials before we share it with the AKC.

Pedigree database clinical diagnosis field – Veronica discussed adding another category to the database to collect infor-

mation on cause of death, illnesses or issues. She asked permission of the Board to contact the programmer and get a

quote on adding this.  The information that would be collected would not be open to the public but would open doors

to possible research programs.  The information would have to come from Veterinarians.

The BOD discussed sending someone to the Canine Health Conference, August 11-13, 2017. Several names were sug-

gested, and a $350 stipend from the Club was discussed. The person who attends will write an article for Saber Tails.

West Region Director resignation – Lindley Henson will be moving out of the country for the next year and has resigned

as Director from the West Region. Several names were discussed to finish her term up to the next Annual Meeting. Tif-

fany will contact possible candidates. The next BOD election ballot will have 2 western director positions listed. One will

be for the unfinished term of Lindley Henson (1 year) and the 2-year term now held by Jo Quintenz.  Susannah Cooper,

who will start her term as President on July 1, resigned her post of Corresponding Secretary. Names were discussed to

fill her unexpired term. Tiffany will contact possible candidates.

Next Meeting: June 12, 2017

Meeting adjourned at 10:01 p.m. CDT

Respecfully submitted,
