Toceranibwillonlybesuccessfulondogswhosetumors
areduetomutationofthatspecificprotein.Totestthis
hypothesis,Dr.Thammhasdevelopedarapidtestthatcan
beperformedonfine-needleaspirates.Thetestcanrapidly
determinewhetheradog’smast-celltumorhasthemutation
sothatatherapeuticdecisioncanbemadewithindays.This

reduceddiversityoftheskinmycobiomeinallergicdogsis

thecauseof,ortheresultof,theanimal’shypersensitivity
toallergens.Itisnotknowniftheskinmycobiomeshifts
duringallergicepisodes.Finally,thepossibilityexiststhat
restoringthemicrobecommunitytohealthylevelswillhelp
