found words of the late Roger Caras as he introduced this great breed at the Westminster Dog Shows over the years, “And 

now. . .here come the PBGVs – otherwise known as the “Happy Hounds!”

Our beloved “Happy Hound” is Toujours Ensemble Pangea – translated from French to English, his name means “Always 

Together” – which we chose to exemplify his importance in our lives and our commitment to him.

We owe a debt of gratitude to two exceptional PBGV owners for helping bring Toujours into our family:

-  Jette Vind Ramvad of Rudkobing, Denmark, who owns Kennel Petit Heroes (www.petitheroes.dk). Jette is a highly-ac-

claimed judge for several dog breeds and proud owner of Petit Heroes Canned Heat “Otto” – who is Toujours’ father. Otto 

is a Danish, Polish, Finnish and German champion and international champion with 17 CACIBs.

-  Paulina Roczniak of Warsaw, Poland, who owns Kennel Hodoula Pangea (www.pangeakennel.pl).  Paulina is a veterinar-

ian and owner of Toujours’ mother, Rosaline Pangea.  Rosaline is a multi-time champion in Poland, Lithuania, Croatia and 

Romania.

Before Otto’s and Rosaline’s littler was born (April 3, 2014) and as she was considering placing the puppies in their forever 

homes, Paulina did an extensive vetting of us – which we greatly appreciated and respected. We shared lots of emails, ques-

tions, answers and pictures of our home and farm.  All of this affirmed to us that if we were chosen, we’d be getting a PBGV 

with not only excellent lineage – we’d be fortunate to receive a puppy from this litter – because of the great care, love and 

devotion of both parents’ owners.

Paulina let us know we were accepted to receive one of the puppies when she sent us pictures immediately following their 

birth.  It was like we received news of being accepted for the adoption process!  We had tears in our eyes and were dancing 

around the room! 

We fell in “love-at-first sight” with one particular puppy, a tri-colored boy and blew him kisses from across the “big pond” 

from the moment we saw him.  In the weeks that followed, we saw this darling boy be the first puppy to venture off the
