This is not a “mail-by” deadline but a receive-by deadline. No exceptions!

Awards will be available for AKC titles earned between January 1 through December 31, 2021 for PBGVs that have been, and are now owned, by PBGVCA Members in good standing. The dog must earn the title while the owner is a member.

You must complete an application for each dog and each award requested. PBGV Stars, All Stars and Super Stars still require one application for each title earned with the AKC Certificates attached to the application. Awards must be requested and include with the application a copy of the AKC Certificate copied to at least an 8 1/2” x 11” size for the Award you are requesting. Applications should be mailed to the Awards Chair. We cannot accept e-mailed or faxed copies of applications.

In the case of ROM awards you must send the registration information on the get of the PBGV applying for the award. Copies of AKC certificates verifying eligibility for award need to be included. AKC does offer a progeny report that would be valid for these awards. In the case of Versatility Awards owner needs to send a copy of titles from each qualifying discipline. Please see previous note about hunt titles.

Annual Awards Rules

In an effort to recognize accomplishments of PBGV’s during the calendar year of 2021, the Awards Committee will be recognizing PBGVs in the following areas. These awards must be earned during the time the owner has been a member in good standing of PBGVCA.

Top Dogs – Yearly Awards (Points count from January 1 to December 31)

  • Top Conformation PBGV and Top Conformation Opposite Sex to Top PBGV
  • Top Obedience PBGV
  • Top Agility PBGV (per AKC based on MACH Points)
  • Top Rally PBGV
  • Top Owner Handled Dog

AKC Titles
PBGVCA will recognize any PBGV that has earned an AKC title and a PBGVCA Hunt title during the calendar year. (January 1 to December 31) PBGVs that are owned by members of PBGVCA can download the award application for an award that will be awarded at the National Specialty each year. Members must complete the application in order to be eligible for an award. These titles would include but are not limited to: conformation championships, obedience, rally, agility, hunt, tracking, scent work, CGC, therapy, lure coursing, and barn hunt. Only AKC titles are eligible for PBGVCA awards except for the PBGVCA Hunt titles. CGC and Barn Hunt must be a title not an award.

PBGVCA Hunt Titles are now being recognized by PBGVCA without an AKC title. Hunt Titles must be earned in 2021 to receive your award. The Awards Committee will check the title applied for against the 2021 Master Hunt Title Record. Passing the Hunting Instinct Test does not qualify for these awards. Must be a Junior Hunt title or higher.

PBGVs and their owners who received AKC titles during the year will receive an award. PBGV Stars are PBGVs who have earned an AKC title during the same calendar year. These owners will receive one award and all their AKC titles for the previous year on that award. PBGV All Stars are PBGVs who have earned two new AKC Titles during the year. These owners will receive one award with both AKC titles for that year on the award. PBGVs who have earned more than two titles will receive the Super Star award. We hope these new achievement levels will encourage more PBGVCA members to continue to reach for the higher levels in the performance, companion, and conformation rings. All awards will include the PBGVCA logo, dogs registered name, year and title.

REQUIREMENTS FOR RECOGNITION:

  • Limited to members in good standing with PBGVCA. Points will only be tabulated for that period of time during which the dog is owned by a PBGVCA member in good standing.
