The PBGV Health and Rescue Foundation is very pleased to be able offer reimbursement for any new submissions of DNA (blood) to the PBGV DNA Bank at the University of Missouri. We hope this offer will encourage our owners to submit their PBGV's DNA and help them in the submission process. Every PBGV no matter its health, age or pedigree is very important to the future of our breed. The information, instructions and forms for submissions can be found by clicking here. While most veterinarians will draw the blood at no fee if they know it is going to research, some do occasionally charge a fee. And the blood must be packaged and shipped overnight. (see the above info for instructions). The Foundation knows that this can become expensive, so will now reimburse the owner up to $75 per dog to help cover these expenses for this very important project. If you have multiple PBGVs, submitting all at one time also helps to lower shipping costs, as the blood can be packaged and sent together.The Foundation does require that your vet put on your receipt that the blood was drawn for PBGV DNA Bank submission. And that your shipping receipt show the University of Missouri address.
